Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZs) NVZ PLANS TO INCLUDE THE COMPLETION OF MANURE MANAGEMENT PLANS, SPREADING RECORD SHEETS AND FARM RISK MAPS
NVZs are areas designated as being at risk of agricultural nitrate pollution and cover approximately 55% of land in England. Farmers of land within an NVZ have a legal requirement to comply with the NVZ rules and maintain annual records to demonstrate compliance.
Within NVZs here is a limit on the amount of manufactured fertilisers and crop-available nitrogen from organic manure that can be applied each year across the whole farm. This is known as N-max.
We can prepare NVZ plans to include the completion of manure management plans, spreading record sheets and farm risk maps bundled into a detailed NVZ document, that can be retained and provided to the Environment Agency upon request. We have experience producing NVZ plans across different parts of the country and with a range of livestock and crop types.
