Wheat @ 47 tons per acre?

The agri-tech world has caught the attention of the mainstream media with a press release about a trial that suggests that wheat grown indoors can produce 117 tonnes per hectare and potentially much more than that. The story comes from a company called Infarm, whose mission is to provide a sustainable solution to feed a growing population in a way that is far more resilient and flexible in the face of climate uncertainty, food insecurity and supply chain disruption.

If that sounds interesting, and you can stomach the bombast and hyperbole, there is more about the company, which has locations across several continents, here.
