The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund 2024 is now open.

There are three Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) grants available to help farmers with the purchase of equipment and technology to improve their farm business, these are as follows:

• items that improve productivity – deadline for applications is 12pm on 17 April. The grant rate is 50% or 60% depending on the items. Minimum payments of £1,000 and maximum payments of £50,000. Click here for the list of items available.

• slurry management items – deadline for applications is 12pm on 17 April. The grant rate is 60%. Minimum payments of £1,000 and maximum payments of £50,000. Click here for the list of items available.

• items that improve animal health & welfare – deadline for applications is 12pm on 1 May. The grant rate is 50%. Minimum payments of £1,000 and maximum payments of £25,000. Click here for the list of items available.

There are over 230 eligible items and 54 new additions on offer. The RPA will pay a percentage towards either:

• the average cost of the item – if an item costs you the same or more than the expected average cost in the list, or;
• the actual cost you pay for the item – if the item costs you less than the average cost in the list.

Two more application windows for productivity, slurry and animal health and welfare items are expected to open in 2024. However, you can only accept one grant funding agreement (GFA) for each grant. When you have accepted a GFA you cannot apply again for the same grant in 2024. For example, if you accept a GFA for a productivity grant in the first window, you cannot apply for a productivity grant in the second or third window.
