We join the many other organisations and individuals in expressing our deep sadness at the death of Her Majesty the Queen. We also reflect on her long life of dedication and service and her support for many of the institutions that provide guidance and stability for the United Kingdon, the Commonwealth and the world. The Queen was the patron of our professional organisation, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and her constant championing of the public interest over personal expediency is deeply engrained in the ethos of the RICS and all similar organisations which are fortunate to operate under Royal Charter.
