Somerset Council has launched a call for sites which runs from 13 January until 24 February. This is a key step in gathering information to help decide which sites might be considered for development in future consultations as the Council prepares its first local plan.
Landowners, developers and site promoters are invited to submit details of land that they would like to be considered for future development. Potential land uses can include housing, economic development, gypsy and traveller pitches, renewable energy installations, and leisure or recreation facilities.
Following the call for sites, each submission will be assessed for suitability, availability and achievability. The findings will be published later this year in a Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA) report.
Submission guidance on the call for sites can be found here. If you would like to put land forward or require assistance with your submissions, please contact our office.
