Rock review published

Baroness Rock’s review and recommendations for reform of the agricultural tenanted sector have been published today. There is also a summary and recommendations for those who prefer a quicker read.

Mark Sanders chairs the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) working group that maintains the RICS suite of agricultural tenancy and licence agreements and is also a member of the Tenancy Reform Industry Group (TRIG) that advises Defra on the agricultural tenanted sector and has provided evidence and written submissions to the review.

If the Rock recommendations are accepted there could be a major Defra consultation on the future of agricultural tenancies and the law that governs them commencing in 2023. This is one of our particular areas of expertise and we will be keeping a close eye on Defra’s response to the report and recommendations.
