Planning permission secured for holiday accommodation unit in National Park

Acorn Rural Property Consultants has obtained planning permission for the conversion of a small, redundant agricultural building into a single unit of non-serviced holiday accommodation in the Exmoor National Park. The grant of consent complied with several key policies within the Exmoor National Park Authority’s Local Plan, which support the conversion of existing traditional buildings to new uses that will benefit the local economy without adversely impacting the landscape, cultural heritage and local amenity.

The building was well-related to the existing farmstead and structurally suitable for conversion without substantial alteration. The conversion was carefully designed to ensure that the building’s traditional appearance and materials were retained to safeguard the positive contribution that it makes to unique landscape and heritage of the Exmoor National Park.
