New guidance published on compulsory purchase

Every major campaign requires a strategic approach to get all the moving parts in the right place at the right time. In the case of the government’s drive to deliver “the  largest housebuilding programme since the post-war period”, the moving parts include the introduction of the Planning and Infrastructure Bill, changes to the National Planning Policy Framework, the establishment of the New Towns Taskforce to recommend appropriate locations for new towns within 12 months – see also here, and, now updated compulsory purchase guidance. The updated compulsory purchase guidance includes a section on the power to remove hope value – just in case anyone is in any doubt as to how all that infrastructure and all those new affordable homes are going to be funded.
