Any of our readers who live within the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Local Planning Authority area may be interested in the news that BCP has just launched a call for sites to inform the creation of its new local plan. That follows a recent decision to abandon work on a previous version of a new local plan after it was thrown out by planning inspectors for a failure in the duty to cooperate.
The new call for sites is wide ranging and includes suitable sites for housing, employment, renewable energy generation, community uses, habitat mitigation and nature recovery and biodiversity net gain (BNG) projects.
We have extensive experience in responding to calls for sites and can assist any landowners if required. We are also familiar with making detailed submissions for environmental sites, having been successful in responding to Somerset Council’s 2024 environmental call for sites and working with a client to establish what is now one of Somerset’s first registered BNG habitat banks.
