Very fishy

Very fishy

We have picked up on recent posts by the Environment Agency (EA) about their annual re-stocking of course fishing waters, including in Somerset. It is likely that many people will not be aware that the EA operates a national fish farm near Calverton, a village to the north east of Nottingham. There is an interesting article on the Calverton village website that says that the fish farm has been operating since 1940 and now has around 1.5m fish. Apart from the shocking puns, this is a welcome example of good practical work by the EA at a time when the general perception of the public sector, particularly in the rural world, is probably not at its highest.
