Extended farming PD rights

Extended farming PD rights

As previously reported here and here, the new and extended farming PD rights come into force today. The government announcement that provides the headline policy context is here. As part of the media promotion, The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP was interviewed on Farming Today this morning and, inter-alia, said that Jeremy Clarkson is a hero for bringing about a change in the Class R PD rights and that the needs of farmers and the rural economy are more important than a few nimbies who are concerned about byres and barns being turned into new homes.

Listeners would be forgiven for thinking that a general election may be just around the corner.
