The 2022 BPS claim window opened on 15 March 2022 and closes on 16 May 2022. Late claims will be accepted up to 10 June, subject to penalties. The RPA is reminding claimants to ensure land cover – i.e. cropping or woodland etc – is up to date as access to the Sustainable Farming Incentive, which is being introduced this year, will be linked to this year’s BPS claim and will not be straightforward if the land cover for each field is not correct.
BPS payments for the 2022 claim year will be reduced by 20% compared with the 2020 claim for claims up to £30,000, increasing to 40% for claims over £150,000.
